Hair tinsel removal
Watch how we remove Maybel's hair tinsel in under a minute!
Hair tinsel removal instructions
If you got hair tinsel at one of our events, here’s how to remove it!
How to Remove Hair Tinsel Attached with a Crimp Bead
Time: Less than 5 minutes.
Follow these steps to remove it safely and efficiently while avoiding damage to your hair.
What You’ll Need: Needle-nose or jewelry pliers
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Clip back the surrounding hair to isolate the tinsel section.
Step 2: Hold the tinsel out from your head. Use the pliers to gently squeeze the crimp bead perpendicular to its direction. Apply slow pressure until the bead begins to open.
Step 3: Once loosened, gently slide the bead and tinsel down the hair shaft to remove it.
Step 4: Discard the used beads and tinsel
Tips:
If the bead gets caught on the pliers, like it did with Maybel's, gently pull the bead away from the pliers.
While the tinsel is in your hair, you can shampoo, curl, or straighten your hair as usual, but avoid excessive heat to prevent damaging the tinsel or your hair.
